Normally I give frozen burgers a lower rating just for not being homemade (although the Gardein burgers kick frozen burger ass). I gave this meal a 4 overall because of the onion rings. I wanted them. They were good. So after three nights in a row of eating out, why frozen burgers? Our weekend was insanely busy and I really didn’t have time to meal plan or shop. In fact, I did my meal planning for the rest of the week on my lunch hour at work and went shopping on my way home. I was so not cooking a big meal after that. Seth likes potato wedges so I made a quick batch of those for him (although his are better). He first found the recipe on YouTube (ignore the ad at the beginning) when we were craving them and and didn't want the ones from the grocery store deli that were fried with the chickens. We’ve sort of just used it as a base. We’ve started using smoked paprika instead of plain and this time I used a seasoning blend I had on hand that I bought for one recipe and almost never use – Montreal Steak Seasoning. It’s good, but there’s not a lot of call for it around here. I love the OMG Onion Rings in AFR and I really like the fact that they’re so much healthier than the deep fried variety I order at restaurants. They’re not hard to make at all and well worth it. We topped our burgers with the usual suspects – lettuce, tomato, red onion, mustard, Nayonaise and Daiya Havarti and served them on Ezekiel buns.
