What? My 40 clove chickpeas didn’t come out right? How the hell did THAT happen? I DON’T KNOW! That’s how. OK, I sort of know. I used too many chickpeas (and yet again, I undercooked my darn beans – what IS it with that lately?!) and a didn’t use enough broccoli, which is weird because our CSA share has been very generous with the broccoli. Sigh. So, anyway, this recipe from Appetite for Reduction is normally one of our favorites – lots of garlic (the clove refers to garlic cloves, not clove cloves), broccoli and chickpeas all roasted to yummy perfection. Or this time, not so much to perfection – it was just dry. Ugh – next time it’ll be better. We had some grilled corn on the side, which was good. Anyway, this meal is normally a 4.25 or 4.5 when it comes out right. On a side note, on Sunday night we made Cajun Chickpea cakes and Dijon Rice with Broccoli from Everyday Happy Herbivore and they were beautiful and delicious, but we had technical problems with the Camera so you’ll just have to wait for the next time we make that to hear about it.
